Time Tested Garage Flooring Products

A gentleman in Texas asked us recently if our garage flooring products were tested.  Of course, I replied.   “Well, I just spoke with one of your competitors who tells me that unlike you he tests his garage flooring products before he tests them”   to which I replied I’m glad to hear that they test their garage flooring.  I would not sell you a garage flooring product unless I tested it first.   

The conversation led to a long discussion of garage floor tiles and the advantages and disadvantages of each and every type of garage floor tile.  I explained that Sport Court® had been making modular flooring for over 30 years and that they had used and tested this product extensively.  Perhaps one of the things that impressed me the most about Sport Court® is their tiles ability to handle UV rays.  We had an issue with another brand of tile warping in the sun.  When we pushed Sport Court® on the issue they sent us 10 boxes of tile and instructed us to put them outside in the brightest place we could find.  We have yet to see any issues with the tile in the sun.

We’ve also run some other non-traditional tests our garage floor tiles.  We’ve even driven a forklift on them to se how they would hold up.  We’ve sold them to several branches of the military, car dealers, and even a heliport. 

The bottom line is that the garage flooring market is growing and it is growing fast.  There are a lot of good products and a handful of ‘not-so-good’ products on the market.  We’re not going to claim that our garage floor tiles are the only ones that past our tests, But I will tell you that I have personally reviewed every brand of garage flooring that we sell.  I’ve assembled them, disassembled them, driven on them, researched them and exposed them to circumstances beyond what they would normally see in a garage.  We do more than bring in a few samples to test a garage flooring product.  We bring in a whole garage floor.  You will also find that the brands of garage flooring we carry are made in the USA and originated in the USA.  They have been on the market for years and they have stood the test of time.  Regardless of what you do in-house to test a product, time is the only true test –just ask a national siding manufacturer about it.

This particular customer wound up buying a several thousand dollar garage floor from us.  In fact we sent him back to our competitor and even to the manufacturers’ site before he made a decision.
