Allow your mats time to relax. If after your mats are acclimated and laying flat you decide you want a more permanent installation you can choose from one of the methods below. That being said, many, if not most of our customers choose to leave their mats loose laid once they have seen how they lay. Note: The 10' Mats have a small area with no pattern. You can use this to overlap the product instead of butting them together. |

Option 1: Seaming StripThere are several methods of joining your mats together at the seam. The first option is to use a BLT seaming strip and adhesive. Fold back one of the mats about 6" at the seam Using the mat that is still in position, trace a line down the entire seam Fold back the second mat and lay out a seaming strip centered on the line. Apply the adhesive to the top of the strip in accordance with the manufactures recommendations and carefully lay the mats back onto the strip CAUTION: Follow the manufacturers instructions and read the precautions. Make sure that you do not use to much, as it squeezes up through the seam it may stain the mat. Back to BLT Adhesive and Seaming ProductsView Garage Floor Mats View Garage Floor Tiles |
Option 1A: Carpet TapeFollow the directions above, except instead of laying out the seaming strip and adhesive, simply lay out 3M Double Sided Carpet tape. Only peel off the top protective covering and lay the mats into the tape. Option 1B: Modified Seaming StripFollow the directions from Option 1. DO NOT USE THE ADHESIVE. Instead use 3M Number 80 Spray adhesive. Spray the adhesive on the seaming strip and allow it to dry. Spray the adhesive on the portion of the mats that will lay into the seaming strip and allow to dry. Once the adhesive is dry lay the mats into the strip. Because the adhesive stays tacky, it will provide a bond but not a permanent seal. This will allow you to remove the mats if necessary. Option 2: Fully adheredBLT Mats can be fully adhered to your floor or trailer. We highly recommend allowing the mats to relax before applying any adhesive. Only use G-Floor® Brand adhesive and make sure you follow the Manufacturer's directions and precautions. |
